Question Big difference with factions?

Have not played this year for maybe 2 years, or 1,5 atleast.
I got bored of the game after having 6 characters (PVE) at 20. How is the game after all new expansions? Heard that like 3 different expansions have come to the game and i wonder if there is any real different compared from 1,5 year ago in the game.
Started with world of warcraft, lvled 2 classes to 70 and have a 62 and 61 too. But was wondering if guildwars is any different know? If it is fun, or what is the overall difference from then compared to now?
Any comments would be nice

The main difference is that now there is a whole lot more to do. There are new quests, missions, skills etc...

Also, Nightfall introduced heroes, customizable AI henchmen.

Also, your question depends on what your definition of "fun" is. I find GW to be great fun and always have. If you're wondering if it is more like WoW now, then no. But I don't find WoW to be very much fun at all, so there you go. It's all based on your own opinion of fun.

As Shadow Spirit said, it ???depends on what your definition of "fun" is???.

Guild Wars now has 3 additional releases after the original Guild Wars: Prophecies. There are many threads about what is in each one, and the pros and cons about them. I would search them out if you are interested in getting back into the game, as they should be able to help you decide which GW expansion to purchase.

Overall, if you enjoyed getting your 6 characters up to 20th level in the original GW, enjoyed hunting for elite skills, and finishing up the story line after you hith 20th level, then you will very likely enjoy the other 3 releases.

If, on the other hand, you got to 20th level and were upset that your character didn???t get any additional health, or attribute points to ???grow??? him further, and you didn???t bother hunting down elite skills or playing out the finale of the PvE storyline with your character once you were 20th level, then you may not want to get back into GW.

Each new release has a new storyline to follow, with a lot of fun twists and turns. Also two of the new releases (Factions and Nightfall) each added 2 new Professions (Assassin & Ritualist, and Dervish & Paragon respectively) for you to make new characters with. Aside from making new characters, you can take your six 20th level characters over into the new campaign area???s and get new skills, and complete the majority (non-newbie areas) of the new story lines. In addition, two of the releases added Heroes (customizable henchmen) that you can take along with you.

The new releases did NOT: increase the level cap, increase the number of skills you can take with you, or imbalance the game by introducing uber-items that break the power curve introduced in the original GW. If this is a problem for you, then getting back into GW is not for you.

Also, I am not a PvP player, so I cannot comment on what changes were made from a PvP perspective ??? but I would imagine there are quite a lot.

The additional campaigns (Factions & Nightfall) are basically stand-alone games. Each is a different storyline and add some new skills and two new professions each, but otherwise the basis is a lot more of the same compared to Prophecies. Both are a little shorter than Prophecies, but each adds unique facets to the game, so all in all its basically a comparable amount of content.

GW: Eye of the North is an expansion in that it is not a stand-alone game by itself. It requires you already have an account with at least one of the three campaigns. The amount of content is predictably much less and it takes place on an existing continent instead of adding a new one. You also can't create new characters in EotN.

If you're asking because you want to know if you should get any of them; If you simply ran out of stuff to do in Prophecies and want more content, then yes they're probably for you. However there is no stunningly different changes to the overall game play.. but that said there's some really great new stuff. For example, Ritualist/Assassin/Paragon/Dervish professions, several hundred brand new skills--some of which I personally wouldn't want to play without anymore--and customizable henchmen (referred to as heroes).
